I’m involved with The Room 217 Foundation because I have always believed that in music there is an inherent value to the human spirit. That while it is often experienced it is not well understood.

The changing demographics of an aging population are going to increase the need for new and innovative ways of bringing peace and removing anxiety to those who give or are in need of care. Room 217 and its staff are at the forefront of that effort.

John, now retired, was the Executive Director of a national construction association, The Canada Masonry Centre. He was responsible for overseeing the administration and operations of their national, provincial and local associations as well as the Ontario Masonry Training Centre and the Canada Masonry Design Centre. He was directly responsible for negotiating collective agreements on behalf of signatory employers with a number of related construction trade unions.

A graduate of St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto he spent over twenty years as a project manager, estimator and later partner of a large masonry contracting firm prior to his tenure as Executive Director.

He has served on a number of industry related Boards and Committees including as Chair of the Canadian Board of the International Foundation as well as being a Trustee on a number of Pension and Health and Welfare Trusts.
